29 FFA members have proposed convening an Extraordinary FFA Assembly

FFA 19.10.2026 18:21

On October 16, 29 of the 34 members of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) non-governmental organization, acting in accordance with Article 34, Clause 2, and Article 35 of the FFA Statutes, submitted a proposal to convene an Extraordinary Assembly.

The members have initiated the process of amending and supplementing the FFA Statutes.

An amendment to Article 31, Clause 4(b) of the Statutes is proposed. Under the current Statutes, candidates for membership of the Executive Committee must meet several requirements, including having resided permanently in the Republic of Armenia for the past year and being proficient in Armenian.

The proposed amendment would remove these two requirements while retaining the conditions that candidates must be citizens of the Republic of Armenia and at least 25 years old.

An amendment to Article 38, Clause 3 of the Statutes is also proposed. Under the current Statutes, if a person has held a particular position for less than the established four-year term, that period is counted as one full term of office, regardless of its actual duration.

The proposed amendment would stipulate that if a person has actually held the position for less than two years, that period would not count as one full term of office. If the person has held the position for two years or more, the period would count as one full term.

Under the current rules, any period of service is counted as one full term of office, even if the person held the position for only a small fraction of the established four-year term.

Further information about the procedure for convening the FFA Extraordinary Assembly and other details will be provided in the coming days.
