In an interview with the official FFA website John van'T Schip commented on his decision:

“Initially, the number of invited players was larger. Unfortunately, one of the team leaders, Eduard Spertsyan, cannot help us due to an injury. I have spoken with Eduard, he is very sorry that he cannot join the team and is looking forward to the next training camps. Hovhannes Harutyunyan and Norberto Balekian also have injuries. Yesterday we learned that Andre Calisir, who was also on our list, is also injured.

Lucas Zelarayan will not join this training camp either, as he has family problems in Argentina. I know that Lucas is one of the most dedicated players of the team, and this time we have met his request, allowing him to stay with his family.

Sargis Adamyan told us that he no longer wants to play for the national team, so we did not even include him in the list of call-ups.

As for Khoren Bayramyan, this time we did not invite him, but he will be under our observation, and I do not rule out that he may still be invited to the national team”.

Armenian national team will start the training camp on March 16 in FFA Technical Centre/Football Academy. Our team will host Georgia on March 20 in Republican stadium after Vazgen Sargsyan, and will leave for Tbilisi to play the second match on March 23 in Dynamo Arena.
