U-21. Armenia’s national team concluded the European Championship qualifying group stage with a draw against Montenegro
Armenia’s U-21 national team concluded its campaign in the group stage of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2025/2027 qualifiers.
In their final match, Armen Gyulbudaghyants’ side drew with their counterparts from Montenegro. The teams exchanged one goal each. Vladimir Perisic’s goal was answered by David Hakobyan. It was David’s second goal of the current qualifying campaign. Our team created several dangerous scoring opportunities, especially in the second half. The shots statistics were 15-14 in favor of Armenia’s U-21 national team.
Three penalties were awarded against Armenia during this qualifying campaign, and all three were saved. Gor Matinyan came to the team’s rescue twice - against Italy, after Ndour’s effort, and against Sweden, after Barji’s shot. Hayk Ghazaryan saved Koleosho’s penalty in the match against Italy.
