Gandzasar to compete in the Armenian First League
Gandzasar FA NGO has submitted a confirmation to the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) regarding its intention to participate in the 2021/22 Armenian First League season.
Although Gandzasar FA NGO does not possess a National License required to participate in the First League and submitted its participation confirmation late, the FFA submitted a motion to the FFA Executive Committee members, recommending that an exception be made to allow Gandzasar’s participation.
Taking into account:
the development of regional football as one of the FFA’s key priorities,
the importance of having a team represent Kapan in national competitions,
and the preference to have at least 8 teams in the First League,
The FFA Executive Committee members voted in favor of the FFA’s proposal.
As a result, Gandzasar FA NGO — which in recent years has only participated in FFA youth competitions — will now once again be represented in a professional competition organized under the auspices of the FFA.
Gandzasar FA NGO will compete in the 2021/22 Armenian First League and will host its home matches at the Kapan City Stadium.
Additionally, due to Gandzasar’s inclusion, the FFA Executive Committee has approved a change in the tournament format, deciding that the First League will now be held in 4 rounds instead of 5.
