5 clubs granted licenses to participate in the 2022/2023 Armenian First League season
On June 3, a regular meeting of the FFA Club Licensing Committee (First Instance Body) was held at the FFA headquarters, dedicated to the licensing of clubs for participation in the Armenian First League.
During the session, the licensing documentation submitted by seven applicant clubs was reviewed. These clubs were: Bentonit FC NGO, Gandzasar FC NGO, Lernayin Artsakh FC LLC, SA Mika NGO, Onor LLC, FA West Armenia NGO, Syunik FC LLC.
Following the review, the Licensing Committee unanimously decided to grant First League licenses to five clubs, thereby authorizing their participation in the 2022/2023 Armenian First League season. These clubs are: Gandzasar FC (NGO), Lernayin Artsakh FC (LLC), SA Mika (NGO), FA West Armenia (NGO), Syunik FC (LLC).
Rejected Applications
The Licensing Committee rejected the applications of two clubs — Bentonit FC and Onor FC — citing the following regulatory non-compliance:
Bentonit FC (NGO): Did not meet the requirements of:
Article 17 – Failed to provide the required number and age categories of youth teams.
Article 36 – Failed to appoint a head coach with appropriate qualifications.
As a result, the club did not fulfill the sporting and administrative/staffing criteria.
Onor LLC: Did not meet the requirements of:
Article 32 – Lacked a qualified physiotherapist.
Article 36 – Lacked a qualified head coach.
Article 37 – Lacked a qualified assistant coach.
Article 38 – Lacked a qualified goalkeeping coach.
The club did not fulfill the administrative and staffing criteria.
Appeals Process
As a result of the license rejection, these two clubs’ first teams will not be allowed to participate in the 2022/2023 Armenian First League season.
However, the clubs have the right to appeal the First Instance Body’s decision within 5 working days, following the procedures established by the FFA Club Licensing Appeals Committee (Appeals Body).
