Message of Armen Melikbekyan on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the founding of the Football Federation of Armenia
On January 18, 1992, the Football Federation of Armenia was founded. Message from FFA President Armen Melikbekyan.
"Today, on January 18, we celebrate the 34th anniversary of the founding of the Football Federation of Armenia. This day in 1992 marked the beginning of our country’s independent football journey—one filled with challenges and great ambitions.
Over these years, Armenian football has gone through a complex path of development. Today, we are at an important stage, when the foundations are being laid not only for present achievements but also for future successes. New development programs, structural reforms, and international cooperation are all aimed at one goal: the sustainable progress of Armenian football.
It is especially important to highlight that the Armenia national futsal team has achieved a historic milestone by qualifying for the European Championship for the first time. This is a great source of pride and confidence for our entire football family.
At the same time, we are taking confident steps toward hosting major international tournaments. Armenia and Georgia are jointly bidding to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which would create new opportunities for the development of our youth, infrastructure, and the entire football system.
Thirty-four years is a number that carries responsibility. It represents history, experience, and accountability toward the future. On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the founding of the Football Federation of Armenia, I congratulate all fans, footballers, coaches, clubs, and partners. Together, we will continue to build a sustainable and competitive future for Armenian football".
