The pre-match press conference of Yeghishe Melikyan and Nair Tiknizyan took place

Today, the pre-match press conference of the head coach of the Armenia national team, Yeghishe Melikyan, and Nair Tiknizyan took place ahead of the friendly match against Belarus.

The head coach of the national team noted that this is currently a period of change for the squad. At the same time, Melikyan explained the principle by which the opponent was chosen:

“Both Belarus and the summer opponents were chosen by me. If we had considered a much stronger opponent, we would have played as the second number. That was not beneficial for us. As for the newcomers, if they have been called up to the national team, it means they deserve it. In tomorrow’s and the upcoming matches, they must show how well they can secure their place in the national team.”

Nair Tiknizyan said that there are no friendly matches for the team:

“There are simply games where it is necessary to win and bring joy to our fans. For us, victory will always be the priority.”
