In 2012 UEFA confirmed the PRO licence course programme of Football Federation of Armenia, which was a huge success.
UEFA highly appreciated human resources, infrastructures and professional skills of the staff of Football Federation of Armenia.
PRO licence is the UEFA highest coaching classification, which gives coaches an opportunity to coach in any UEFA association.
The course started in May, 2012. The first participants were Vardan Minasyan, Rafayel Nazaryan, Suren Chakhalyan, Vardan Bichakhchyan, Sevada Arzumanyan, Abraham Khashmanyan, Ashot Avetisyan, Armen Sanamyan, Albert Safaryan, Ashot Barseghyan and Slava Gabrielyan. The coordinator of the course is UEFA instructor Flemming Serritslev.
The participants visited several European countries, watched football matches, made professional analyses.
In 2012 the participants went to Poland and watched the matches of Euro-2012. The coaches observed the matches of Armenian national team’s opponents in WC-2014 qualifying round: Italy and Czech Republic.
Armenian coaches made their next trip to Germany from 22nd to 29th of April, 2013. They were given an opportunity have a close look at the infrastructures of German clubs: Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach, to have meetings with the technical directors, head coaches and the head of academies of those clubs as well as to watch Bundesliga II and Bundesliga I matches: MSV Duisburg-FC Cologne, FC Cologne-Munchen-1860, Bayer 04 Leverkusen-Werder Bremen and made analyses of them.
The coaches, involved in PRO licence courses, visited Nyon, Switzerland from 13 to 16 of May, 2013 to take part in UEFA “Student Exchange Programme”. During the courses the participants got an opportunity to make practical trainings, to get acquainted with such topics as crisis management, mental power, self-improvement methods, relations with media and so on.
The participants had an opportunity to attend the lectures of such famous experts as Howard Wilkinson, Niko Romejn, Piter Rudbak and Jack Croauvasie.
During the PRO licence courses not only our coaches visited foreign countries, but also European specialists visited Armenia. One of them was Sean Hamil, famous Football management and economics specialist, who visited Armenia in August 2012. During his presentation Hamil spoke on English and American football, the modern models of football management, emphasized the importance of football as a part of huge economy.
On December 2012 a Slovakian goalkeeper coach, FIFA instructor Alex Wentsel visited Armenia, with very interesting practical and theoretical trainings.
On April, 2013 famous German coach Erich Ruthemoller, who was Berti Vogts’s assistant in 1996, when Germany became European champions and is UEFA instructor now, visited Armenia. The aim of visit was getting acquainted with the perspectives of the development of Armenian football, football infrastructures. The German specialist was also to follow the process of the FFA Coaching PRO licence course. During his lectures Ruthemoller spoke about modern trends in football and showed the way teams organize their defence and offence on the example of the Euro-2012 semi-finalists.
Andreas Morisbak, Jesper Andersen, Sigmund Apold-Aasen and Bernd Stober were also among the famous specialists who visited Armenia on the frameworks of FFA Coaching PRO licence courses.
FFA Coaching PRO licence course came to the end. The examination session of PRO licence course participants started On November 11 and ended on November 25. FFA president Ruben Hayrapetyan granted the participants with PRO diplomas.
FFA Coaching PRO license second course started at FFA Tehcnical centre/Football academy on October 15, 2015. 13 coaches – Artur Petrosyan, Liana Hayrapetyan, Aram Voskanyan, Varuzhan Sukiasyan, Vahe Yaghmuryan, Karen Barseghyan, Sargis Hovsepyan, Artak Oseyan, Andranik Zanazanyan, Artur Voskanyan, Felix Khojoyan, Tigran Esayan and Zsolt Hornyak took part in the courses, while Belgian Marc Lelievre led the course. All the participants got their PRO licences on October 2016, having taken part in study trips to Dortmund and Montpellier earlier.
