Seminar-meeting held with FFA Club Licensing Officers
On January 19, a seminar-meeting was held at the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) headquarters, organized by the FFA Licensing Department. The event brought together licensing officers from clubs applying for National, UEFA, and UEFA Women’s Champions League licenses. The seminar was conducted by the Head of the FFA Licensing Department, Vahan Berakchyan.
On December 27, 2023, FFA President Armen Melikbekyan issued his annual strategic statement, officially launching the licensing season. The National Licenses that will be granted during the season will serve as the basis—subject to sporting qualification—for clubs to participate in the 2024/2025 IDBank Armenian Premier League and UEFA club competitions of the same season.
A total of 11 clubs have submitted applications for participation in the 2024/2025 licensing cycle, including Gandzasar FC and Syunik FC, who currently compete in the Armenian First League.
It is also noteworthy that three clubs have submitted applications for a UEFA Women’s Champions League license.
During the seminar, club representatives were introduced to all the updates and changes to licensing criteria compared to the previous season. Key topics included the professional requirements for club medical staff, employment regulations for coaches holding multiple roles, and the implementation process of the FFA Football Management System (FMS).
Participants were also briefed on the requirements and deadlines for submitting the necessary non-financial documentation packages by February 23. Based on these submissions, the FFA Club Licensing Committee will review and decide on awarding National Licenses on March 26.
As for UEFA licenses, the relevant session of the FFA Club Licensing Committee is scheduled to take place on May 3, 2024.
