The Armenia national futsal team has been drawn into Group 1 of the main qualifying round for the 2028 FIFA World Cup, where they will face the national teams of Hungary and Sweden.

Head coach Antonio Fernandes spoke to the FFA about the results of the draw.

“It is a balanced group. Hungary is a tactically well-organized, competitive team with an excellent coach. Sweden is a physically strong side with talented players. To reach the next stage, we must deliver our best performance and even improve upon it. After the EURO, everything has become more difficult for us, and we must accept that as a challenge. We are ready to work hard to overcome the main qualifying round for the 2028 World Cup,” said the Spanish specialist.

The matches will begin in October 2026 and will continue until March 2027.
