Licensing seminar seld with FFA Club licensing officers
On January 20, a seminar-meeting was held at the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) headquarters, organized by the FFA Licensing Department. The event brought together licensing and financial officers of clubs applying for National, UEFA, and UEFA Women's Champions League licenses. The seminar was led by Vahan Berakchyan, Head of the FFA Licensing Department.
On December 27, 2022, FFA President Armen Melikbekyan published his annual strategic statement, officially announcing the start of the new licensing season. The National Licenses granted during this process will serve as the basis—if the respective clubs also achieve the required sporting qualification—for participation in the Fastex Armenian Premier League 2023/24 season and UEFA club competitions in the same cycle.
A total of 11 clubs have applied for licensing for the 2023/24 season, including First League clubs Gandzasar FC and West Armenia FC.
Notably, two clubs have submitted applications for a UEFA Women’s Champions League license.
During the seminar, club representatives were introduced to all regulatory changes and updates to the licensing criteria compared to the previous season. They also received detailed information about the requirements they must fulfill and were reminded that the non-financial documentation packages must be submitted by March 3. Based on the submitted documents, the FFA Club Licensing Committee will meet on April 3 to review and decide on the granting of National licenses.
The meeting of the FFA Club Licensing Committee regarding the UEFA licenses is scheduled to take place on May 2 of the current year.
