The HFF School Football Cup has officially kicked off. The tournament is held within the framework of the “Football in Schools” educational program. This year, more than 640 schools are participating — 157 from Yerevan and around 485 from the regions — bringing together a total of 7,800 students.

The competition features three age categories: U-10, U-12, and U-14. The U-10 and U-12 groups compete in two stages — community and regional/Yerevan — while the U-14 age group also has a third, national stage.

Each team registers 12 players, with 6 players on the field at a time. Teams are required to include at least three girls, and one girl must be on the field during play.

According to Artur Sahakyan, Advisor to the HFF President and Head of the HFF Mass and Amateur Football Department, the HFF implements this program in cooperation with all city municipalities, regional administrations, and local self-government bodies of Armenia. The goal of the program is to promote a healthy lifestyle, increase interest in football, and make the sport accessible to everyone.
