Unity Cup: Armenia’s team holds a selection camp

The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) previously announced the launch of the formation of an amateur football team composed of players with refugee status. The team will participate in the Unity EURO Cup 2026 international tournament, which will take place in Italy this October.

A total of 40 players have submitted applications to participate, including people from Artsakh and foreign nationals. They are currently taking part in a selection camp. The coaching staff will choose the 20 best players.

The selected players will begin a training camp in August.

Armenia has been participating in this tournament since 2023. Last year, the Armenian team finished in second place. In the final, Armenia was defeated by Finland in a penalty shootout following a draw in regular play.
