Varazdat Haroyan on FIFA World Cup 2026 draw

The European Qualifiers draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup took place on December 13 in Zurich, Switzerland. Armenian national team was drawn into Group F alongside the winner of Nations League 24/25 League A play-off round match between Portugal and Denmark, as well as Hungary and the Republic of Ireland.

Armenian national team captain Varazdat Haroyan commented on the results of the draw in an interview with the FFA official website: “It’s quite an interesting draw. Portugal and Denmark both have strong teams. There’s no big difference which of the teams we will face. We are very familiar with the Irish national team as we played against them recently. Hungary is similar to the Irish team in terms of playing style. We have to prepare well and do our best to play as good as possible."
