Armenia celebrates UEFA Grassroots Football Week in partnership with EA Sports FC Futures.
The FFA joins all 55 European national associations in celebrating UEFA Grassroots Football Week from September 22–29.
UEFA Grassroots Football Week is an annual event that brings millions of people across Europe together, highlighting the role of grassroots football in the lives of children, youth, clubs, coaches, parents, and volunteers. It showcases how football inspires, includes, and unites communities, ensuring that football is accessible to everyone.
This year, UEFA Grassroots Football Week is organized in partnership with UEFA’s program EA SPORTS FC FUTURES. UEFA returns 97% of its revenue to the development of football, with grassroots football being one of the key areas of investment.
Grassroots Football in Armenia
Thousands of children, youth, and adults participate in football in Armenia. In recent years, the FFA has paid significant attention to this field, implementing programs that promote a healthy lifestyle for children and make football widely accessible.
To develop grassroots football, the FFA carries out several projects:
“Football in Schools” Educational Program
One of the largest and most comprehensive grassroots football programs. Its goal is to improve and modernize football education in general schools, promote football participation across Armenia, familiarize students with the concept of “football as a healthy lifestyle,” engage students in football competitions, and increase the number of children actively playing football.
Promoting the “Football for All” Philosophy through Inclusive Football
This program allows children with physical and intellectual disabilities to participate in football.
“Integration through Football”
A program for refugee inclusion, giving children displaced from Artsakh the opportunity to play football in host communities, supporting their social integration.
Development of Women’s Football Initiatives – UEFA Playmakers Program
Designed for girls aged 5–8, this program, implemented in partnership with Disney, introduces girls to football in a fun and positive way, promoting participation in the sport from an early age.
“Football in Schools” Program
Within this program, mixed-format school championships are organized. Girls also have the opportunity to participate in these competitions.
The FFA is a signatory of the UEFA Grassroots Charter, which ensures that the FFA implements programs and activities in line with UEFA’s overall grassroots football development requirements.
