Regular meeting of the FFA club licensing committee held
A regular session of the FFA Club Licensing Committee (First Instance Body) was held at the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) headquarters. During the session, the committee reviewed the non-financial licensing documentation packages of nine clubs from the 2022/2023 Fastex Armenian Premier League — Alashkert, Pyunik, Van, Urartu, Ararat, Noah, Ararat-Armenia, Shirak, and Lernayin Artsakh — as well as two clubs from the 2022/2023 Armenian First League — Gandzasar and West Armenia FC. These applications were submitted for acquiring a National License, which would grant the clubs the right to participate in the 2023/2024 season of the Fastex Armenian Premier League, starting this summer.
Following thorough examination, the Licensing Committee unanimously decided to grant National Licenses to the following nine clubs: Alashkert, Pyunik, Van, Urartu, Ararat, Noah, Ararat-Armenia, Shirak, West Armenia.
Upon receiving their National Licenses, these clubs are now eligible to proceed to the UEFA licensing process, during which they will prepare and submit their financial documentation packages in pursuit of a UEFA Club License.
The committee, by six votes in favor and one abstention, decided to deny a National License to Lernayin Artsakh FC LLC, citing the club's failure to meet the requirements set forth in Articles 17 and 39 of the FFA Club Licensing Regulations (2022 edition).
Additionally, by five votes in favor, one against, and one abstention, the committee decided to deny a National License to Gandzasar FC NGO, also for non-compliance with the criteria outlined in Articles 17 and 39 of the same regulations.
As a result of the license denial, the first teams of Lernayin Artsakh FC and Gandzasar FC will not be eligible to participate in the 2023/2024 Fastex Armenian Premier League.
