On May 6–7, the fourth and final module of the “Coach Expertise Program” was held. It was implemented in cooperation between the FFA and the international company “Double Pass”. The multi-stage educational process aimed at the development of coaches from Armenian clubs and academies was summarized.

During the two-day course, participants discussed key topics of modern coaching through theoretical and practical work:

📌 Leadership and decision-making
📌 Effective use of feedback
📌 Player welfare
📌 Building a professional environment

In the second half of the day, coaches worked in groups. They applied the knowledge they had gained in practice, exchanged experience, and analyzed various coaching situations. At the end of the module, participants were awarded certificates. The program became an important platform for self-reflection and the development of modern approaches, contributing to the formation of a coaching community with a leadership mindset in Armenian football.

“We are very pleased that we have been cooperating with ‘Double Pass’ for already three years. At the beginning of this year, we finalized our new program with ‘Double Pass’. It primarily concerns youth national teams. It is a targeted long-term program. Until 2028, we will try to improve our work with youth national teams. There is a perception that youth national teams belong solely to the FFA, but that is not the case. The players of youth national teams are provided by clubs. That is why everyone in this room, who has gone through this journey with ‘Double Pass’, has participated in both the successes and failures of our youth national teams and their further development. I believe our new program with ‘Double Pass’ will contribute to this growth. It is today’s youth national teams that will represent Armenia at the FIFA Youth World Championship. I want us to approach this with full responsibility, because a minimum of 24 teams will participate in the tournament. Out of those 24, a maximum of 6 teams will represent Europe. One of those 6 will be Armenia. This is, first of all, a responsibility to perform well in FIFA’s second-largest tournament. For Armenia, this is a unique opportunity to play in the final stage of this competition. I hope that together we will work for the development of youth football and youth national teams, and proudly represent Armenia at the 29th Youth World Championship,” said FFA President Armen Melikbekyan.

“I have attended all four phases of the ‘Double Pass’ Coach Expertise Program. The coaches’ progress is evident. If at the beginning they were focused exclusively on team environment and collective work, now—aligned with leading European practice—they place more emphasis on individual development. This is very important, because it is through individual growth that players reach the club’s first team or the national team. At each subsequent session, the coaches participating in our program present their innovations. This shows that they quickly absorb information and apply it in practice. For me, the most important idea of this program is that participants should not mechanically copy foreign experience. They should take the key ideas and make them their own,” summarized the program Global Project Manager of “Double Pass”, Joost Hendrickx.
