This course by the FIFA Foundation is being implemented in Armenia in collaboration with the UN Refugee Agency and the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA). It is attended by 30 refugee, displaced, and local coaches.

The course will provide coaches and those interested in coaching not only with technical football skills but also with leadership abilities, enabling them to become mentors, role models, and active members of their communities.

During the five-day course, participants will gain knowledge and skills to create safe, inclusive, and engaging football activities, promote social cohesion, psychosocial well-being, and community resilience.

According to FIFA Foundation advisor Alejandro Calvente, the program aims to create a football bridge between participants, overcoming language and cultural barriers. He noted that participants are expected to turn the theoretical lessons into practice daily and conduct training sessions with the support of instructors.

FIFA Foundation advisor and coach Alberto Giacomini emphasized that football is not just a way to become the next Ronaldo or Messi but also an opportunity to educate children. “This is the idea we aim to pass on to participants over the next five days. I hope that by the end of the seminar, everyone will be able to propose their own version of a football training session—one that develops children’s abilities and skills,” said Alberto Giacomini.

The "Football Coaching for Community Development" course will conclude on December 5.
