FFA and UNHCR announce the launch of the formation of an amateur football team for refugees

Football Federation of Armenia and UNHCR announce the launch of the formation of an amateur football team for people with refugee status. The team will participate in the international Unity EURO Cup 2026 tournament in October.

The tournament is a joint initiative of UEFA and UNHCR aimed at supporting the integration of refugees. Both men and women are eligible to join the team. Anyone who meets the following requirements may submit an application.

Aged between 18 and 40

Has football experience

Holds refugee status and a document confirming it

Has permanent residence in the Republic of Armenia

Holds a travel document

Is ready to dedicate two days per week, two hours each day, to football training sessions

Is ready to travel to Italy for three days in October 2026
