Meet the Futsal Champions League finalists: Sporting CP

Four past winners will go head to head in the UEFA Futsal Champions League finals at Demirchyan Arena SCC in Yerevan, Armenia on 3 and 5 May. On May 3 Benfica - Palma Futsal will start the semi-final matchday1, later the same day Barça will face Sporting CP.

Sporting Clube de Portugal is a professional futsal club part of the Sporting CP sports club. Based in Lisbon, the section was founded in 1985. They are the most decorated team in Portugal, having won the UEFA Futsal Champions League two times.

One game from reaching an unprecedent fourth straight final (and seventh in eight years), Sporting boast a squad containing the core of the Portugal sides which won the UEFA Futsal EURO in 2018 and 2022, the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup and the 2022 Futsal Finalissima. They are also through to the finals for a record 11th time – and tenth (joint with Barça) in the post-2006/07 format, not counting the inaugural one-off eight-team 2002 showpiece in Lisbon. This season Sporting have become the club with the most competiiton match wins (71, to Inter FS's 68) and goals (432, above Inter's old record of 410, and six clear of Benfica's current total of 426).
