Details on the convening of an extraordinary FFA congress
As previously reported, members of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) have requested the convening of an extraordinary congress to make amendments to the FFA Statutes. In light of the public response, we would like to provide the following clarifications.
A request to convene an extraordinary congress has been submitted by 29 of the FFA’s 34 members. These include nine clubs representing the Premier League Ararat-Armenia, Noah, Pyunik, Alashkert, Sardarapаt, Van, Ararat, Gandzasar and Syunik; six clubs representing the Armenian First League Andranik, Olimpia, Mika, Lernayin Artsakh, Bentonit and Ararat Avshar; as well as clubs participating in youth competitions Akhtamar, Achajur, Vedi, Ayge, Nikarm, Kumayri, Hayasa, Lori Vanadzor, West Armenia, Aghbyurak, Ani and Abovyan Academy. The Yerevan Futsal and Armenian Girls’ Leadership in Football clubs have also joined the initiative.
We were subsequently informed that Vanadzor FC was also joining the initiative. Urartu, Shirak, Dovegh and Hayk have not joined.
According to the FFA Statutes, upon receiving such a request, the FFA is required to convene an extraordinary congress within two months. To this end, a meeting of the Executive Committee will be convened in accordance with the Statutes, during which the date and time of the extraordinary congress will be determined.
We would also like to remind you that the FFA’s regular Annual Congress is scheduled to take place at the end of this year, during which the members of the FFA Executive Committee, the FFA President and the Vice-President will be elected.
