The UEFA/FFA C licence course is the foundation level of the mainstream coach education pathway. It is designed for people who wish to begin or develop their coaching careers.
The course prepares coaches to work in grassroots football, with particular emphasis on the development of children and young players.
Learning is based on a player-centred approach, the creation of a safe and positive football environment, learning through play and the application of theoretical knowledge in practical coaching.
The course aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of coaching and the ability to plan, organise and deliver training sessions appropriate to players’ ages and stages of development, support their development and reflect on one’s own coaching practice.
The course also encourages independent learning and continuous professional development as essential elements of a coach’s further progress.
The course content is structured around four interrelated areas: “The Grassroots Coach”, “The Environment”, “The Player” and “The Game”.
The coach’s role and responsibilities; planning and organising the training process; communication and feedback; reflection on one’s own practice; and the use of technology in coaching.
Child safeguarding in football; creating a safe and positive training environment; sports ethics; fair play; and basic first-aid principles.
Age-related characteristics; basic physiology; teaching technique; fundamental movement skills; and the basic principles of fitness testing and nutrition.
Understanding the fundamental principles of the game; learning through play; using different game situations and small-sided games; and the Laws of the Game.
The course consists of six modules and final examinations.
One of these modules is dedicated to futsal. It introduces participants to its key characteristics and provides a foundation of knowledge for further professional development in futsal coaching.
Learning combines theoretical study, on-pitch practical sessions, individual and group work, and practical coaching sessions between modules, during which participants apply the knowledge and skills acquired on the course.
Practical assignments are completed with participants’ own teams or with teams provided by the FFA.
Participation in all learning components of the course is compulsory. The procedures governing absences and the completion of missed learning activities are set out in the course participation terms.
Formative assessment supports and monitors participants’ progress throughout the course through theoretical and practical work, assignments and coaching sessions delivered between modules.
Summative assessment, including final examinations, takes place at the end of the course. It assesses participants’ theoretical knowledge, understanding of the Laws of the Game, ability to plan and deliver a training session, and ability to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in a practical coaching context.

The course is intended for people aged 18 or over who wish to begin or develop their coaching careers and are ready to acquire and continually improve the professional knowledge and skills needed to work with children and young players.
Applicants must have sufficient spoken and written command of the official language of the course.
Admission follows the procedure established by the FFA.

The fee for the UEFA/FFA C diploma course is AMD 150,000, inclusive of taxes and other mandatory charges.

The UEFA/FFA C Diploma is the foundation coaching qualification and provides a foundation for further professional development.
Participants who fulfil the course requirements and successfully complete the assessments are awarded a C Diploma and coaching licence.
Coaches holding a valid UEFA C Licence may continue their education on the UEFA/FFA B diploma course and on specialist UEFA Futsal B, UEFA Goalkeeper B and UEFA Fitness B courses, provided they meet the experience and other admission requirements for each course.
