Protection and welfare of a child

The Football Federation of Armenia is obliged to guarantee a safe environment and entertainment for all the children and vulnerable persons involved in football, regardless of age, abilities, or level of involvement. FFA wants people to have fun, get a pleasant and positive experience playing football, so in this context it attaches great importance to the policy of children protection.

FFA Child Protection Policy defines child protection as an organization's obligation to ensure that football is a safe, positive and enjoyable experience for all children, so that all children are protected from harm (including violence) when involved in football at all levels.

The protection and well-being of a child is the responsibility of every person involved in Armenian football. Protection of children includes both preventive actions aimed at minimizing the likelihood of harm, and responsive actions aimed at identifying fears about the use of violence and aimed at their proper solutions.

Harm and violence

Harm is a situation where the safety and well-being of a child is at risk.

Harm can occur when someone tries to deliberately abuse their authority and abuse a child. The child may also be harmed due to improper behavior, which may be due to lack of awareness or lack of training.

Violence is the mistreatment or abuse of a child that can cause harm to a child.

A person may abuse a child, forcing him to harm himself or by failing to prevent someone else from harming the child. Children may be bullied in familiar, family or public places. Less often, children may be abused by strangers, for example, via the Internet. Children are abused both by adults and by other children and peers.

Violence can take many forms and includes all forms of physical, emotional/psychological, and sexual violence, neglect, bullying, abuse, and exploitation regardless of whether the violence was inflicted in person or remotely (online).
